Based on sustainably grown European fava bean protein, Unlock Protein offers the same functional benefits as our original Silverback Protein formula, but with a completely new taste experience. Thanks to the naturally mild flavor of fava beans — combined with our extensive ingredient development and precision formulation — we’ve created a protein shake that truly rivals whey. Smooth, creamy, and delicious.

This new line takes plant-based protein shakes to the next level. We’ve long used peas as our go-to base — and for good reason: they’re locally grown, don’t require irrigation or synthetic fertilizers, and are extremely sustainable. But we wanted more. Our goal? To create an alternative that’s just as effective, with even greater benefits. That journey led us to the fava bean.

Fava protein is equally sustainable — and in some ways, even more so. It delivers more protein per 100 grams of dry matter and offers a higher yield per square meter compared to peas.

But there’s something truly unique about fava beans: once the protein fraction is isolated, you’re left with a white, neutral-tasting powder that dissolves effortlessly and has a silky-smooth texture. The result is a plant-based shake with the taste and texture of whey — without any animal ingredients.

Building on this incredible base, we pushed further to solve another challenge: the aftertaste of free-form amino acids. Through extensive R&D and smart ingredient pairing, we created a clean, creamy flavor in which the sharp amino acid taste is barely noticeable — neutralizing one of the biggest barriers in plant-based performance nutrition.

We’ve always wanted to switch to a pouch format — but only if we could do it right. That means 100% recyclable, aluminum-free, and offering excellent shelf life. Compostable options were considered, but the barrier limitations still allow for more oxygen and moisture penetration, which could compromise product stability — and that’s not a risk we’re willing to take.

So we developed a smart solution: a multi-layer pouch made entirely from the same type of plastic (PP). Because the layers share a single melting point, they can be recycled back into clean polypropylene — enabling true circular reuse in applications like food packaging or car parts, not just downcycled into fillers or low-grade materials. An innovative, future-proof packaging aligned with our mission to raise the bar in sustainable nutrition.
